Fashion Fridays

Hey Everyone!
I haven't forgotten about you all don't worry! Just had MAJOR writers block combined with alot going on through September. But I'm back! New month... New...erm ME? ye we'll go with that.

I thought I would ease myself back in with a couple of my favourite picks that I have seen for this autumn season & my gosh have I seen some gorgeous pieces along my journey this month. I have a confession to make - I've been naughty, treating myself like EVERY weekend to something new. That's not like me at all. Savings is seeing a frequent drop.

Outfit Pick

My new found love has got to be these shoes, how amazing are they!? I want them in all the colours! That would be the best thing EVER! A colour for every outfit and they effortlessly give some edge to your look.

Knitwear is always an essential throughout the colder months, complete your look with statement necklaces, scarves, mahooosive earrings or even bold floral headpieces.

Kimono's are my must-have piece that can effortless take your outfit from one level to amazing. I love that they can be worn throughout the day and also make it look dressy for the evening. Definite buy for this season. Make a statement with your look. Here are a few that are on my want-list.

Throughout winter, I change my style to wearing blazers for my every day wear, I love the smart but girly appearance about them, play around with your style and purchase some floral or pattered blazers that you can accessorize with scarves and bold jewellery. Fashion fridays picks:

My favourite pick this week: a gorgeous jacket with a faux fur trim, as soon as I saw it I fell in love. Need this. Now.

Hope you have enjoyed my first Back to blogging post. :) remember to leave your links and let me know what you have on your list to purchase this weekend.

Meet Milo!

It's been a while since my last blog, I've just had not the motivation or time to write blogs. But I thought I would come back with a quick little post to introduce you to my new little monster, Milo. He is a male bengal kitten, who is the tiniest thing I have ever seen in my life!

Naming pets... this is always a toughie. I always ummm and arrrr about different names that I like & having a cat called Caesar, the name needed to be strong and mighty, after a few suggestions on the #bbloggers chat, it was decided.... Meet Milo

My mum & I went to go for a little visit to see our new addition in the comfort of his own home with his mummy and daddy. My first thought was that the house was going to be crawling with kittens, but it was the total opposite, all the kittens were all tucked up together on the sofa, sleeping. My heart skipped a beat when I saw them all cosied up together!

We got to see all of the kittens along with their parents & they all had such nice temperaments, they were all family pets coming from a loving home, so we knew that we just had to have him. Our plan was to go visit him and to then pick him up on friday, but we got the opportunity to take him there and then, if I had known that I wouldn't of drove - just so that I could have him on my lap! :)

On the journey home, he was a bit upset with all the new experiences that were happening & roared out the tiniest yet cutest meow! Awwww! From then on his journey consisted of him being frantic & trying to escape through the cat carrier bars. Scratching us one finger at a time when we tried to calm him.

We finally got home, it was only a short journey, from one town to the other but it felt soooo long as all I wanted to do was get him home and play.

Once we were home, he was not sure of his surroundings which is understandable at first, so we left the carrier door open to see if he would come out, he had a little wonder and then back into the carrier and snoozed until I got tired and took him up to my room which I had set up camp ready for him to have a snooze in.

The first night consisted of him getting lost in my covers and bed as he was so small, he hogged the bed so I slept in funny angles just make sure he had a comfortable night!

I'm sure he will fit right in with my family, he now has two border collie brothers and an older sibling ginger cat to look after him! :)

Hope you enjoyed meeting this little rascal, I'm sure he will be up to some mischief very soon! Thank you for the great suggestions for naming him.

MOTIVATE ME MONDAY

START YOUR WEEK OFF STRONG. FINISH YOUR WEEK OFF STRONG!!! MOTIVATE ME MONDAY

I recently bought the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels on DVD & I promised to myself that as soon as it arrived at my house (it arrived on Friday) that I would start my transformation to a healthier self.
Instantly that promise was broken... it was a Friday & I always struggle to eat healthy through the weekend, let's be brutally honest, no one wants to start a diet on a Friday. The fact I am lazy about food doesn't help and I always opt for the quicker the better but this is never always a healthy alternative.

The fact my boyfriend is so fussy with what he eats (he's an anti vegetable eater) doesn't help but he never seems to put on any weight no matter what he eats. Unfair.

New week - New start! & I'm going to start off my week strong.

Eating a balanced diet and taking part in this 30 day shred, I will take a picture diary of my progress as I struggle to stick to anything for a long time if I never see results. So DAY ONE begins.

I best let you know what I'm getting myself in for as some of you may of not heard about this fitness DVD.
The 30 Day Shred is a workout DVD that you can do in the comfort of your own home, I love that you can get fit in your own home as I do have a little bit of anxiety of going to the gym so this was a great idea for me to test out and see the results.

Fitness expert Jillian Michaels hosts this 60 minute integrated program designed to mix cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and an intense focus on the abs to create a dynamic system that can result in extreme weight loss as impressive as 20 lbs. in 30 days. Amazing

With 20 minute exercises that include weights (capable for everyone to manage) full of activities that targets each area to help get your heart pumping and pulse racing, it's perfect to get fit.

Here are some results taken from Google images of the results people have achieved from taking part in the 30 Day Shred.

Hopefully I will be proud of the progress that I have made doing this challenge to be able to post my results online. Well done to everyone who has achieved what they have wanted in 30 days! Keep it up.

Fashion Friday

I have got to say I am looking forward to purchasing some winter warmers this season. With gorgeous yellow limes and timeless tartans slowing creepy in stores just gives me so much excitement inside!

So I thought I would do this post based on my favourite high street store, Topshop. With plenty of clothes and jewellery to feed my unhealthy obsession.

Here are my favourites out of many (trust me, it was hard to narrow it down) , I apologise for my yellow lime obsession in advance.

Ultimate Winter Warmer Outfit

There's nothing better than putting on a cosy warm jumper during the winter, these pretty pastels and bright neons will definitely mix up your style, dress it up with statement jewellery.

I realise now that I have chosen two of the same style, typical me! But who doesn't love having something that they love to wear in more than one colour. I'm guilty as charged for this with my obsession with backless cami tops and peplum style tops, it's amazing when you find a great fit, you feel great wearing it whilst alternating and creating a different look every time you wear it.
Speaking about cami vests, here are the top 3 that I love & have had my eye on for a while.

Jeans are always a must for the base of my outfit, from bright bleached jeans to dark denim indigo blue. Recently trying to mix up my look and add some patterns to my style with aztec and also paisley jeans, which I'm in love with, they just bring a gorgeous added touch to your outfit with little effort needed.

As autumn approaches I love the textured dresses that keep you warm and stylish. My few picks from Topshop. I have got to purchase something tartan this season, with my mum's Scottish heritage, the tartan dress looks amazing with tartan accents.

Statement pieces that have caught my eye, they are just amazing. I've seen a few girls wearing the yellow silk play-suit in different styles to suit their figure and it is just stunning, layer on top or alone with statement jewellery for a girl's night out.

Wish I could wear play-suits and actually look decent, with having an abnormal long torso and legs, I always find that they never really fit my top half properly due to this reason and the fact I have big boobs too so they never squeeze in.

My favourite part...BAGS. As some of you may know I am a huge bag lover. From small shoulder bags to clutch bags to tote bags - the bigger the better I always say!

Week Two - Concealer #theSOproject

So I have joined the #theSOproject YEY... just a tad late, better late then never shall we say!

I first found out about the project after being asked a few times whether I was part of it, I was then curious to what it actually was! So I took to google/twitter & after researching I found this amazing project that aimed to help younger teens/make up newbies/make up fanatics but don't necessarily have the knowledge that other's would with years of experience.  This is where #theSoproject steps in, applying tips, tricks & knowledge of makeup and bloggers own personal experiences of what works best for them.

I'm here, listed as part of #theSOproject, Thank you Stephanie

Here is what the next few weeks will consist of:
The weeks include (in order):

Skincare
Concealer - This Week!
Foundation
Bronzer
Blusher
Mascara
Eyeliner
Eyeshadow
Lips
Make up tools

Concealer is used to cover areas on your skin whether it be dark circles, skin blemishes or any spots that you feel you need to cover but many people don't realise that you can use it for contouring... Kim  K is a big fan of this

Being born with a natural light complexion with freckles, I went for a darker shade than I usually would as I love to have hide the fact that I am paper white with a tan but to also soften the definition of my freckles for a refreshing finish. This concealers darker shade can also be used for contouring on lighter skin tones, which is a great way to emphasize your facial features.

I'm not quite Kim K, but I tried it out myself...

I have applied it under my eyes, tip of my nose and creases on the side on my nose to contour & also touching up any blemishes that I may have on the day. This concealer blends in so well, I use either a foundation brush or stippling brush to blend into my base makeup for the perfect finish.

My Tools: Benefit Fake Up, Real Techniques Stippling or Foundation Brush

Any questions feel free to leave them in the comments or tweet myself & I will get back to you asap!

Leave your links below, I hope you have enjoyed your this post, it's exciting to be apart of such an amazing project.

Hello Flawless Foundation

As some of you may know, I am a benefit convert with the goal to try to fill my makeup bag of all the beautiful benefit cosmetics that I can get my hands on.

I've visited the benefit counter a few times leading up to and on my actual birthday, I'm so hooked from the presentation to the packaging to how the product applies.

This brightening liquid foundation builds from a light to medium coverage for a natural complexion. This beige shade gives me a natural luminous complexion that creates the perfect base for my makeup.

With a sleek silk touch, this foundation glides on so smoothly with no extra oils which leaves your skin with an even coverage for you to warm up with either your bronzing powder or brighten with a blusher. My personal favourite.

How to find the perfect match for your skintone?

You can easily step into any department store and be bombarded with a million & one choices as soon as you walk in for various brands that have different shades, coverages and skin types with each one owning unique titles - meaning that when switching brands can be a bit tricky because what was once your shade for one brand is totally different with another.

Whether you are new to wearing foundation or a total pro, I would always recommend going to have a colour match with the brand of your desire to make sure you are paying for something that you are going to use, as this can save time and also a lot of cash monies!

Colour-matching foundation is different for everyone. Once it's on, however, the end result should be the same: that your face, neck and body are unified in colour.

If your face is already the same colour to your body (jealous), choosing a foundation is as easy as matching the colour to your face. But, if like most people including myself who dream of a tan or just a healthy glow, your face is different colour to your body (either paler or darker) it's not good enough to match it to your face alone. You will have to consider matching your desired foundation to your body.

When your face is PALER than your body - this is my main problem as I love to have a tan but this will fade considerably more with the use of cosmetics and cleansing, but don't worry this is common as people are vigilant about using sunblock on their face, yet tan their bodies. In instance, to get the perfect match to create a unified look, match your foundation with a warmer part of your skin - this will mean that you will end up buying a foundation that is darker than your face. This may sound a bit scary at first, but remember its all about the end result which will ensure that your body, neck and face will be the same colour. Perfect.

When your face is DARKER than your body, don't be tempted to lighten your skin with a paler foundation to match your body, this will leave your skin with an ashy effect making you look ill and aged. Which is what what you want to avoid altogether. It is essential to match your foundation to the colour of your face, and then warm your face and neck up with either the same foundation or a bronzing powder, this will give you a closer tone to each part.

Hope you have enjoyed this post, please leave your links of your experiences or favourite foundations!
